Configuring Anti-Malware Policy, Safe Attachment and Safe Link Policies.
Creating Anti-Malware Policy.
Protect your organization's email from malware, including what actions to take and who to notify if malware is detected
Login to you Microsoft Defender XDR Portal.
Go to Email & Collaboration, click on the dropdown and select Policies & rules.
Next, Click on Threat Policies and then Click Anti-Malware. On the Anti- Malware pane click on Create, fill in the Name and description and select Next.
On Users and Domains, input your domain and click Next.
On Protection settings check the box and Add email where files can be redirected and click on Next
Review and Summit.
New Anti-Malware Policy Created. Click on Done.
Implementing Safe Attachment Policy.
Safe attachments policy help prevent people from opening or sharing email attachments that contain malicious content.
Login to the Microsoft Defender Portal and Navigate to Email & Collaboration, click on the dropdown and select Policies and rules, then select Threat Policies.
On Threat policies pane, select Safe Attachment.
On the Safe Attachment pane click on Create and setup the policy. Give it a Name, description and select Next.
On Users and Domains, input your domain name and click Next.
On the Settings pane check the Block box and click on Next
Review and Summit.
New Safe Attachment Policy Created. Click on Done.
Implementing Safe Link Policy.
Safe Links helps prevent your users from following links in email and documents that go to web sites recognized as malicious.
Login to the Microsoft Defender Portal and Navigate to Email & Collaboration, click on the dropdown and select Policies and rules, then select Threat Policies.
On the Threat Policies pane Select Safe Links
On the Safe Links pane click on Create,
Set up the Safe Links Policy, fill in the name and description and click on Next.
On Users and Domain pane input your domain and click on Next.
On URL & Click Protection Settings, check the boxes according to your organization requirement and click on Next.
On Notification pane, set how you would like to notify your users. Here I customize my notification text. Click on Next.
Review and Summit.
New Safe Links Policy Created. Click done.
